Rather than simply translating a single article, our editorial process brings together multiple Korean-language sources on the same story, identifies the facts that are consistently confirmed, compares differing interpretations, and adds independent analysis and context that international fans are looking for. Every article goes through a fact-check pass before publishing, and where relevant, we link back to original sources.
Our Editorial Method
Every story on Korea Wave News goes through the same four-step process before it’s published:
- Source gathering — We pull multiple Korean-language reports and community discussions on the same story, not just one source.
- Cross-checking — Facts that appear consistently across sources are treated as confirmed. Claims that appear in only one place, or that conflict with other sources, are flagged as unconfirmed or left out entirely.
- Context and analysis — We add background and perspective that a direct translation wouldn’t include, aimed at readers who may not be familiar with the wider context of Korean entertainment culture.
- Fact-check pass — Before publishing, each article goes through a second verification pass to catch inconsistencies or unsupported claims.
We’re upfront that this is an editorially-assisted process rather than a single reporter’s first-hand account. Where we can, we link back to original sources so readers can dig further themselves.
